'Honey Boo Boo' Alana Thompson Likely Getting A Salary Increase

"Here Comes Honey Boo Boo" is back: Alana Thompson and her family will be back on television, as the TLC network confirmed it has ordered more episodes that will follow the pageant queen, dad Sugar Bear, mother June and big sisters Pumpkin, Chickadee and Chubbs.

The Georgia-based family will also get three holiday specials -- dubbed "HOLLAday" special shows, celebrating Halloween, Thanksgiving and Christmas, but it likely comes with a pay increase for the family.

“Yes, they totally get a raise when more episodes are ordered,” Marianne Garvey, star of Oxygen’s reality show "Girlfriend Confidential: NY" tells me. “Usually a contract for reality stars is for two seasons but with blowout ratings, they have the upper hand. They will now get a huge raise.”

Website Troubles for Some PNC Customers

In the wake of Internet service attacks on JPMorgan Chase & Co., Bank of America, Wells Fargo and other institutions, PNC Bank said Thursday some online customers are continuing to have difficulty logging in.

"We are working to restore full service to everyone," said Fred Solomon, spokesman for Chicago's fifth largest bank.

PNC customer Mike Maddaloni, president of Dunkirk Systems, a Chicago-based web consulting firm in the Loop, said he has had trouble accessing his online business and personal PNC accounts since Wednesday. He needed to check his account balance and to get a copy of a check.

Opening Friday, “Looper” stars the 31-year-old Gordon-Levitt as Joe, one of those “loopers” contracted to show up at a certain time and place and just pull the trigger. In a dystopian world with a bad economy, it’s a lucrative gig — at least until the gangsters send back your future self for execution to “close the loop.”

Willis, 26 years older than Gordon-Levitt, also plays Joe. Willis is the version from the future, the one who mucks up his younger self’s life by escaping.

In 2012, of course, the two actors look nothing alike.

TORONTO -- On the bright side, Vitor Belfort lasted far longer than anyone expected.

Still, it wasn't enough for the heavy underdog to unseat UFC light-heavyweight champion Jon Jones, who rebounded from a turbulent few months outside the cage for a gutsy performance inside it.

Jones (17-1 MMA, 11-1 UFC) survived a first-round scare and then battered Belfort (21-10, 10-6) over the following rounds to pick up a fourth-round submission victory at UFC 152.

The pay-per-view event took place Saturday at Toronto's Air Canada Centre.

Jones, one of the sport's top pound-for-pound fighters, entered the cage for the first time since a May DWI arrest and a subsequent clash with UFC officials. Jones initially was slated to fight Dan Henderson on Sept. 1 at UFC 151 in Las Vegas. However, when Jones turned down a fight with injury replacement Chael Sonnen on nine days' notice, UFC officials canceled the event outright and publicly lambasted Jones while pinning the blame on him.

Jeff Gordon's latest promise: Breakdance in victory lane

Jeff Gordon's mustache might be gone, but the lighthearted bravado that inspired the throwback look remains despite a disastrous start to the Chase for the Sprint Cup.

 The four-time champion, who dutifully made good on a promise to sport a pencil-thin wisp of hair on his upper lip if he qualified for the Chase, made another oath he might regret Thursday.

Unveiling a Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles paint scheme on his No. 24 Chevrolet for the Oct. 14 race at Charlotte Motor Speedway, Gordon vowed to breakdance in victory lane with his 2-year-old son, Leo, if he wins the Bank of America 500.

"It might be light," laughed Gordon, who stunned many with his deft repertoire of 1980s electric boogaloo moves last December in an impromptu performance during the postseason awards ceremony in Las Vegas. 

"I've got to teach Leo to dance. A win is huge, as I've already shown, I'm a man of my word. I can pull off a couple of little moves that maybe won't hurt me too bad."

Yunel Escobar suspended 3 games for slur on eyeblack

Yunel Escobar delivered his message. Major League Baseball and the Toronto Blue Jays responded with one of their own, a blunt, forceful directive that said: Homophobia will not be tolerated.

Escobar, the Blue Jays' starting shortstop, was suspended three games for wearing what the team called "an unacceptable message'' on his eyeblack during Saturday's game.

The players association was consulted on the matter and won't appeal the suspension.

A photo of Escobar's eyeblack, sporting a sentence with a Spanish-language slur against gays, was posted online Monday, sparking debate on social media and spurring MLB to investigate.

Escobar met with news reporters before Tuesday's game at Yankee Stadium and said through coach Luis Rivera that the slur on his face was "just a joke."

"I agree with the suspension. I don't have any problem with that. â?¦ I'm embarrassed," said Escobar, a native of Cuba who came to the USA as a teenager. "I'm sorry for my actions of the other day. â?¦ I don't have anything against homosexuals.

Bank of America's site stuck in prolonged slowdown

Bank of America's website was sluggish and intermittently unavailable for many users on Tuesday, in an outage that the bank hadn't explained by the end of the day.

Bank of America (BAC, Fortune 500) spokesman Mark Pipitone said the company is "working to ensure full availability," and that online banking is available "although some customers may experience occasional slowness." The bank's official Twitter account sent similar messages to customers who complained about the issues.

The majority of Bank of America's customers were able to access the site, which remained online throughout the day, Pipitone said. Still, many customers were unable to connect because of the site's slowness.

Comedian Patrice O’Neal Dies

Veteran stand-up comic Patrice O’Neal, who gained a wider following through TV and radio and helped roast Charlie Sheen, died Tuesday from complications of a stroke he suffered last month. He was 41.

O’Neal’s manager, Jonathan Brandstein, said he died in a New York-area hospital.

“Many of us have lost a close and loved friend; all of us have lost a true comic genius,” Brandstein said in a statement.
O’Neal appeared on Conan O’Brien’s and David Letterman’s TV shows and was a frequent guest on the “Opie & Anthony” radio show on Sirius XM. His performance was a highlight of the Comedy Central roast of Sheen, who had been fired from the hit CBS comedy “Two and a Half Men,” in September. Read more on pbpulse....

American Airlines files for bankruptcy

American Airlines' parent company, AMR Corp., announced Tuesday that it has filed for chapter 11 bankruptcy.

AMR said American Airlines, American Eagle and all other subsidiaries will honor all tickets and reservations and operate normal flight schedules during the bankruptcy filing process, using its $4.1 billion in cash.

The airline also announced that Gerard Arpey, its chairman and CEO, is retiring. He is being succeeded by Thomas Horton, who was named president of the company in July 2010.

Lisfranc Injury

Lisfranc joint injuries are rare, complex and often misdiagnosed. Typical signs and symptoms include pain, swelling and the inability to bear weight. Clinically, these injuries vary from mild sprains to fracture-dislocations.

On physical examination, swelling is found primarily over the midfoot region. Pain is elicited with palpation along the tarsometatarsal articulations, and force applied to this area may elicit medial or lateral pain. Radiographs showing diastasis of the normal architecture confirm the presence of a severe sprain and possible dislocation. Negative standard and weight-bearing radiographs do not rule out a mild (grade I) or moderate (grade II) sprain.

Reevaluation may be necessary if pain and swelling continue for 10 days after the injury. Proper treatment of a mild to moderate Lisfranc injury improves the chance of successful healing and reduces the likelihood of complications. Patients with fractures and fracture-dislocations should be referred for surgical management.

A businessman claimed that he was held and badly beaten up in different locations by policemen who also took RM13,000 of his money and threatened to ruin his business.

At one juncture during his alleged 24-hour nightmare, the policemen also ordered him to make a false report that he had been injured in a car accident and if he refused they threatened to plant a blood-stained parang or drugs in his car.

Businessman Chia Buang Hing, 34, claimed that a policeman from the narcotics division also threatened to “inject” him with drugs.

How Google Instant Works

Google Instant, a new version of the search engine that displays results as you type.

When you type a search query using Google Instant, results appear after the first letter is entered, and they update as the user types.

According to Marissa Mayer, Google's vice president of search and user experience, as Google Instant can predicts and automatically completes search terms, results are actually delivered "before you type,".

Google said that before Google Instant, it saw many examples of searches that took 30-90 seconds to type and the typical searcher took more than 9 seconds to enter a search term. If a user uses Google Instant, he can save 2-5 seconds per search.

$50 Billion Infrastructure Job Plan on Labor Day

According to White House, President Obama will announce today to start job creation with a six-year plan to revamp the United States' road, railways and runways with a $50 billion up-front investment. The announcement will be made in Milwaukee.

An official said The President is committed to working with the Congress to fully fund the program, which also includes a proposed infrastructure bank to leverage private capital.

The plans that Obama will propose under the six-year plan including:

- Rebuild 150,000 miles of roads;

- Construct and maintain 4,000 miles of rail;

- Rehabilitate or reconstruct 150 miles of runway and modernize the air traffic control system and;

- Set up an infrastructure bank to leverage private, state and local capital to invest in projects.
