Kathy Wetherell

Longtime television producer Kathy Wetherell was killed in a car accident on Dec. 20 in Arizona. She was 48.

Wetherell's vehicle crashed head-on into a tour bus early Saturday morning east of Wickenburg on State Route 74, according to Arizona TV station ABC 15.

Officials believe the Cal State Fullerton graduate may have been trying to avoid an animal when she veered into the path of the bus.

Wetherell broke into showbiz on "General Hospital" before turning her attention to reality television. Among her credits were "Road Rules," "The Real World," "Making the Band," "The Bachelor," "Married by America," "Outback Jack," "Flavor of Love," "Charm School" and "Rock of Love."

Wetherell is survived by her husband, parents, brother and nephews. - News from AmericanSuperStar

Alexis Cohen Death

Police have arrested a 23-year-old New Jersey man in connection with Saturday morning's hit-and-run death of two-time "American Idol" contestant Alexis Cohen. The Asbury Park Journal reports that Daniel Bark was arrested at 6 p.m. on Sunday and charged with causing Cohen's death by reckless driving and then leaving the scene of a collision.

Cohen, 25, the defiant blonde who auditioned for "Idol" in seasons seven and eight, became a fan favorite thanks to her clashes with judge Simon Cowell, who referred to her as the "Green Goblin" after her first high-energy auditions. Proudly proclaiming that she marched "to the beat of a different drummer," the Allentown, Pennsylvania native who shared a studio apartment with her mom didn't impress with her cover of Jefferson Airplane's "Somebody to Love" in 2007. This week's episode of Top Chef Masters was truly a lovefest among the four master chefs who really showed an enormous amount of camaraderie and healthy competitive spirit. Emma Watson, our Hermione Granger, has decided to attend Brown University this fall, where she hopes to be known as "the student from the U.K.," as opposed to "Emma Watson, who starred in those Harry Potter films." Good luck with that, Em.WARNER BROTHERS Watson is a smarty-pants on and off screen.

Steve McNair Funeral Pictures

Steve McNair's funeral was held today in Hattiesburg, Miss. at the Reed Green Coliseum on the campus of the University of Southern Mississippi. Steve McNair's funeral was one of the largest in Mississippi history, according to the AP. An estimated 4,500 fans, friends and family came to say goodbye and bay their respects to Steve McNair.

A hearse carrying Steve McNair's caskets was escorted by police officers down the highway. McNair's wife Mechelle, and his mother, Lucille were escorted into the funeral by police.

The Titans quarterback Vince Young said "Steve was like a hero to me, and heroes are not supposed to die,"

Baltimore linebacker Ray Lewis said "I find myself in awe when I speak about a man like Steve McNair,"

Brett Johnson Dies

Brett Johnson, a native of Fort Worth who worked as a reporter for NBC Channel 5 television for the past 13 years, died Sunday. He was 48.

Mr. Johnson died at Baylor All Saints Hospital, where he was admitted Wednesday after complaining of stomach pain, NBC 5 reported. He was diagnosed with pancreatitis, which led to other complications, his family told the station.

As a reporter, he covered everything from hurricanes to crime, but feature stories, especially anything related to music, were his forte, NBC 5 reported. Homegrown Texas artists were his favorites. - Reported on Star-Telegram

Amanda Rodrigues Kills Her Husband ?

Aruturo Gatti’s wife, Amanda Carina Barbosa Rodrigues, was taken into custody by authorities for being a suspect in the murder or her husband.

According to investigations, Arturo and Amanda Gatti had a verbal fight at a bar on Friday before returning to their hotel room. The following day Amanda Rodrigues Gatti said she went out for a walk with their son and found Arturo dead in their hotel room when she returned. Jasmin Ouschan raised her pool cue and smiled broadly after beating Kelly Fisher in the Great Lakes Classic 9-ball tourney final Sunday.

It was the most emotion underdog Ouschan showed all day in earning her third Women's Professional Billiard Association title. The blonde native of Austria joined the pro tour in 2007.

She took advantage of Fisher's break in Game 2 to sink a 2-9 combo for a quick 2-0 lead then went up 4-1 and cruised 7-2. Game 2 lasted about one minute.

"When I was up 6-2 I felt victory was close," grinned Ouschan. "All the pressure was off at the end."

She was 17th last year in her first Great Lakes Classic at the Blue Chip Casino-Hotel.- More news on Post-Tribune

Former skating champ Nicole Bobek has been charged. She has been busted on drug charges. Nicole Bobek is 31 years old and she made her first appearance in court on Monday regarding the drug bust. Basically, Nicole is from Jersey but last week she was arrested from Florida. In Hudson County. she was trying to sell the drugs. We have often saw cases, in which athletes used drugs to enhance their performance level but now athletes are sell drugs for recreational purposes as well.

Nicole Bobek represents her country and was a professional athlete but now she has been charged and believed to be a part of a New Jersey meth drug ring. Sam DeLuca, was Bobek’s lawyer and entered a a not guilty plea for Nicole.She is being held on a bail of $200,000. If convicted she probably faces up to 10 years in prison. Read more on Puggal News

Houston Car Chase

A high-speed chase, involving a white van and local police, just took place across the freeways and byways of Houston, Texas. The pursuit, which took place over an hour in two different counties and twenty-five miles, ended in a parking garage in the northern part of the city, where police cars surrounded the van.

However, that was not the end of the chase, as the suspect then ran to the top of the garage, at which point he was stopped at gun point by the local authorities. Nashville Police idenitifed the second victim in the shooting of former Titans Quarterback Steve McNair as 20-year old Sahel Kazemi.

Police found the pistol near Kazemi's body on the floor of a condiminium rented by McNair. McNair was seated on the couch. They are not ruling out a murder/suicide in the case. There were no signs of forced entry on the condominium. More news on Titans Radio

Harve Presnell Dies at 75 of Cancer

Modesto native Harve Presnell, a stage and screen actor whose booming baritone graced such Broadway musicals as "The Unsinkable Molly Brown" and "Annie," died Tuesday of pancreatic cancer at the age of 75.

Penguins Signs Mike Rupp

Mike Rupp has signed with the Stanley Cup champions.

The physical forward agreed to a two-year, $1.65 million contract with the Pittsburgh Penguins Wednesday. A native of Cleveland, Rupp will be playing close to old stomping grounds and only an hour and a half from his offseason home.

"It is ironic. It wasn't planned that way, but it is obviously a bonus," Rupp told me. "That organization is on top of the hockey world and built to have a good chance at staying there. I want to be part of that team and contribute to that team."

Nona Paris Lola Ankhesenamun, the woman claiming to be Michael Jackson’s wife, is asking “that all my husband’s properties, monies and assets must be transferred to me immediately” and “my husband’s body must be returned to the coroner’s body [sic] or the mortuary immediately.”

Murray in Wimbledon Quarter Finals

Andy Murray will attempt to make it in to the semi-finals of Wimbledon for the first time today when he takes on Juan Carlos Ferrero in the quarter-finals.

The world number three beat Ferrero in straight sets earlier this month on his way to the Queen's Club title.

Murray is not worried about recovering from his late-night, five-set win over Stanislas Wawrinka: "If you recover fine it's a good thing to play a long match and know that you've got four hours of tennis in you. On grass you very rarely play matches that are that long so if I recover, fine, then it's a positive."

Funeral Photos of Farrah Fawcett

The funeral for actress Farrah Fawcett was held in Los Angeles this afternoon. Her long time partner Ryan O’Neal was one of nine pallbearer who helped to carry the flower laden casket. He and Farrah’s long time friend Alana Stewart entered the church together, both wearing black.

Redmond O’Neal was able to the attend the 4:00 p.m. service at the Cathedral of Our Lady of the Angels Catholic Church after receiving a three hour pass from Judge Jane Godfrey. He was dressed in a suit and wore dark sunglasses.

The couple’s son has been incarcerated at Pitchess Detention Center in Castaic since April 5, 2009, undergoing intensive treatment for drug addiction, as ordered by the court.
