Penguins Signs Mike Rupp
Mike Rupp has signed with the Stanley Cup champions.
The physical forward agreed to a two-year, $1.65 million contract with the Pittsburgh Penguins Wednesday. A native of Cleveland, Rupp will be playing close to old stomping grounds and only an hour and a half from his offseason home.
"It is ironic. It wasn't planned that way, but it is obviously a bonus," Rupp told me. "That organization is on top of the hockey world and built to have a good chance at staying there. I want to be part of that team and contribute to that team."
His agent, Allan Walsh, talked to the Devils Wednesday but nothing came of it. The Penguins pursued Rupp vigorously. Read more on nj.com
